2025 Intake Sessions

Important Notice for New Students

While we continue to run new intake sessions to prepare students for placement with instructors, please note that new students will not be assigned an instructor or gain access to course materials until July 1, when our new school year begins. You are encouraged to complete orientation in the meantime, ensuring you're ready to start classes promptly on July 1.

What does an intake session include?

An intake session  includes several key components to help new students get started with their program:

  1. Program Overview: Introduction to the program's structure, goals, and expectations. This includes an explanation of course requirements, schedules, and any important policies.
  2. Technical Setup: Instructions on how to access the online learning platform, including any necessary software or hardware requirements. This might involve setting up accounts, learning how to navigate the platform, and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
  3. Orientation Materials: Review of orientation materials, which may include a timeline of upcoming events, steps to complete enrollment, and guidelines for successful participation.
  4. Introduction to Support Services: Information about available support resources, such as a student success coach, technical support, and academic assistance. This includes how to contact these services and what help they provide.
  5. Goal Setting: Discussion of personal goals and expectations for the program. This might involve setting academic and personal goals and understanding how the program can help achieve them.
  6. Q&A Session: An opportunity for new students to ask questions and clarify any doubts about the program or the intake process.
  7. Documentation: Collection of any required documents or forms, including proof of eligibility or identity verification.

As long as you are 16 years old, no longer enrolled in High School, and do not have a High School Diploma, you can enroll in an ABE course. Additional requirements for IOO include having a computer with internet access( a cell phone or tablet will not work), and are able to commit 7 hours a week to the course.

If you have a webcam, you can complete everything online. If you do not have a webcam, you will need to visit an ABE center to complete all testing requirements.

Yes, we can use your IEP accommodations and apply most of them to the course and most can be granted for the HSE test as well.

It depends on how much effort and time you put in. Each student comes in with a different skill level and areas they need to improve. Our goal is to get you test ready as soon as possible.
